Superior Senior Softball All-Stars win district title and other Little League news

  The Superior Senior Softball All-Star team won three consecutive games in lopsided fashion June 27-30 to claim the Arizona District 4 Championship.

  Superior, which served as the host of the District 4 Tournament, defeated Coolidge (19 – 2), Maricopa (21 – 3) and Coolidge again (17 – 3) to go undefeated in bracket play and win the championship.

Superior LL Softball eliminated from district tourney

  The Superior Little League Softball team won its first game of the District 4 Tournament, defeating Maricopa in a one-run game, 15 – 14, on June 23 before being eliminated with consecutive losses.

  Eventual District 4 Champion Casa Grande dealt Superior its first loss of the tournament on June 24 and Coolidge won an elimination game on June 25, 12 – 8.

Superior 9-10 All-Stars Reach Semis of District Tourney

  The Superior 9-10 All-Star team opened the District 4 Tournament with a 10 – 1 loss to Maricopa on June 24 before winning consecutive games to reach the semifinals.

  Superior bounced back to defeat Tri City 11 – 8 on June 25 and earned a come-from-behind victory against Coolidge on June 28, 10 – 8.

  Maricopa, which served as the tournament host, defeated Superior for a second time in the semifinals on June 29 in an elimination game for both teams.

  Casa Grande eventually won the tournament title with an 11 – 1 victory against Maricopa on June 30.
