Los Hermanos

Superior is home to many family owned and operated restaurants, many have open and closed over the years.  Some are new to the scene and some have reinvented themselves to offer more variety or have changed locations or managers.

Los Hermanos has been a tried and tested restaurant in Superior.  A favorite amongst locals and visitors, the restaurant has been serving patrons for 42 years.  Hikers of the Arizona Trail often leave rave reviews of the local Mexican food restaurant.  They compliment the generous portions and tasty and savory authentic Mexican food items.

Several generations of the family have worked the business from the day-to-day operations and special events. The restaurant is a partnership of the Tameron brothers and their mother Mary.

Los Hermanos provides more than a place to grab a quick bite. The family also offers catering services, operates a tortilla factory and the restaurant features a lounge and full service bar along with an upstairs banquet hall.  The restaurant, located at 835 US Highway 60, is open everyday  5 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., the bar is open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. (may close early if business is slow).  The banquet hall is available for a fee for meetings, weddings and other social events; those interested in renting the hall should contact the restaurant at 520-689-5465.  Fresh flour and corn tortillas are made daily and often sell out.  The tortilla factory also sells fresh masa for tamales and nixtamal corn for soups like posole and menudo.

In an interview with co-owner Richard Tameron, he explained that the recipes used at the restaurant are recipes their family has used for many years.  His advice to fellow and future entrepreneurs? “Be consistent and don’t be afraid to work hard.”

The “In Your Biz” column is sponsored weekly by the Superior Chamber of Commerce in an effort to further promote their business members.  To learn more about the Superior Chamber of Commerce you can visit their website www.superiorarizonachamber.org or call them at 520-689-0200.  The Chamber meets the third Wednesday of every month at their building 165 Main St. in Superior, Arizona, RSVP is required to attend the lunch meetings please call Deb McKee at  520-827-1773 to RSVP.  Lunch is $10.00.
