All communities need various forms of housing. From single family homes and apartments, everyone needs some kind of shelter.  In Superior tucked away on Grey Dr. just west of the Little League field and what appears to be the base of Apache Leap mountain sits a small gem for housing, the Superior Arboretum Apartments.

The apartments are actually a property of the National Church Residences which is a non-profit organization that builds and maintains low income housing for families and senior citizens.  The NCR originally built the Arboretum Apartments more than 20 years ago and over the years they have remodeled and upgraded the units in Superior.  Recent upgrades included new cooling units, paint and interior remodeling as needed.  Each apartment definitely has a beautiful view to admire.

The apartments feature studio and one bedroom floor plans; they come with small kitchens and a bathroom in each apartment.  Each apartment has a an area for outdoor seating and the community features a community room where residents can enjoy activities and social events.  They also provide some transportation for their residents.

Longtime Superior residents Kathy Noriega and Lisa Almejo help to manage the apartment community and assist with the application process to live in the community.  There is often a waiting list for vacant apartments to become available.  There is an income threshold that must be met in order to become a resident of the Arboretum Apartments which are designed to accommodate low income senior citizens.
