Mountain Vista School last week celebrated the completion of the concession stand at the MVS athletic fields with a community barbecue. John Hernandez | Miner

Oracle, Arizona On Friday, Oct. 2, a barbecue was held at the new concession building at Mountain Vista School in Oracle. The barbecue was to thank all the businesses and people that helped make the building possible.

School staff, Governing Board members, volunteers, donors and their families attended. The building houses the concession stand and includes a kitchen and rest rooms. There are picnic tables and a barbecue grill. The concession building is located by the Mtn. Vista athletic fields.

The building has been seven years in the making. Construction started two years ago with people volunteering their time on weekends. Everything was the result of donations and volunteers.

“It was an unbelievable community effort,” said Superintendent Dennis Blauser. More than $25,000 was raised in five years through fundraising efforts of the PTO and others. It is a great addition to the Oracle School District.

The Oracle School District would like to thank everyone that contributed in making the building a reality.
