In an effort to help raise money for Mammoth San Manuel High School scholarships, the San Manuel Rotary invited vendors and individual sellers to participate in a local swap meet at the San Manuel Elks parking area earlier this month. It was an enjoyable day to shop around in the outdoors.
There were a variety of items for sale from t-shirts to household items including furniture. Even some tasty burros were being sold. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day whether they were selling or buying.
The San Manuel Rotary Clue supports annual events such as Polio Plus/World Polio Day (Oct. 24), Copper Town Days, Food Bank and many other community events.
They sponsor scholarships and youth programs including senior academic scholarships, senior vocational scholarships, Central Arizona College’s “College For Kids” and the Youth Leadership Awards. They also provide financial support for Boys and Girls State projects.
It is a terrific to see people enjoying these type of events whether selling and/or purchasing items or just sitting under a covered area visiting and eating freshly made burros. It was a good time by all.
Thank you to the San Manuel Rotary for putting this event together, the Elks Club for the area to hold the event and all the vendors and customers. Look for more events to come.
