Renovations at the San Manuel Airport have entered the second phase of the master plan with more pavement work and reconstruction of the fueling station.
The first phase began in June with repayment of the ramp and taxi areas.
Further plans for the airport call for shaded tie downs on the apron allowing for covered parking for planes. There are currently 23 people on a waiting list for hangars at the airport.
The project is being funded by grants from the Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration and officials hope to improve the safety of the airport as well as attract people and businesses to the area.
