Superior ace pitcher Rickey Longoria, a first team All-Division and All-Section selection, is scheduled to appear in the 2015 Arizona Baseball Coaches Association (AzBCA) Division III/IV All-Star game, which will be played on Saturday, May 30, at Goodyear Ballpark Stadium.

Longoria, a senior, helped lead the Panthers to the quarterfinals of this year’s state playoffs, where his team lost to eventual state runner up Ray. The right-hander went 8 – 3 this past season with a 2.71 ERA in 12 appearances, 10 of them as a starter. He threw three complete-game shutouts, including a no-hitter against Duncan on March 12 and one-hitters against Hayden and Pima.

As a batter, Longoria hit .271 with eight RBI and four doubles on the season.

Saturday’s All-Star game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
