It was an incredible night of musical entertainment for all to enjoy at the Ray High School Auditorium. The Copper Community Action Board (CCAB) put together a terrific musical event. The CCAB is a group working toward the future prosperity and pride of our local communities. The CCAB has performed various clean up’s in Dudleyville, Hayden, trash pick-up and overgrown weed removal from the Winkelman Historical Bridge, an ice cream social in Kearny and many other projects for the local communities.
Performers of the evening consisted of Brandon Drahos who is pursuing a career in entertainment and came from Los Angeles, Calif. and Anissa Newman has been singing for about four years. She enjoys photography as a hobby and is currently in school to be a health records administrator. Other performers included Joshua Godoy and his group from Snowflake, Ariz. He writes his own songs and one was in reference to Domestic Violence. Josette Kimmel sang beautifully and also played the Marshmellow Woman, she is currently attending Central Arizona College. Danny Fessenden played for Ray High School and many bands, he encourages young and old to learn to play and instrument or sing. Johnny Silva works for ASARCO, current fire chief of Hayden and president of CCAB. Johnny Angel is a Hayden senior who loves Frank Sinatra and is taking fire science classes through the CVIT program. Luciano “Lucky” Romero learned to play the guitar under the guidance of Adeline Martinez while helping St. Joseph’s Children’s Choir. He also helps the Ronald McDonald House, Better Together campaign and other foundations. Bernadette Munoz has been singing since her early teens and has made a local CD, she has also auditioned for television contests. All the performers were outstanding.
All the participant’s musical talents were thoroughly enjoyed by over 100 people. The music was moving and a real pleasure to listen to! We are lucky to have such talented people in our Tri-Community and even the ones who came from long distances to perform for the community.
