San Manuel Miner
The San Manuel cross-country teams competed at the Globe Invitational on September 5, 2014. The girls’ team finished first, while the boys’ team finished in second place. Each member of the girls’ team medaled and finished in the Top 8. Five boys’ team members medaled, each of them finishing in the Top 15.
The runners overcame a rough terrain set in the hills of Globe with only two semi-flat areas on the course.
Individual girls’ results: Andrea Castaneda (1st), Ashidet Ochoa (2nd), Yesenia Arcienega (4th), Jessica Lopez (5th), Diana Medina (7th), and Rebekah Messing (8th).
Individual boys’ results: James Duarte (3rd), Patrick Lopez (7th), Juan Ortega (9th), Colton Stratton (13th), Jared Gonzales (15th), Andres Rodriguez (19th), Tylo Montes (20th), and Marco Salas (21st).
The Miners will compete next on September 10, 2014, as they host the 26th Annual San Manuel Cross Country Invitational. The meet starts at 3:30 p.m.
