Superior – Another month of school has gone by and the children are progressing daily. As their minds become filled with new information, through the many books and fun activities completed, they show progress in expressive language, conversation and personal growth.
Most recently, the children participated in a “Silly Dress Up Day” walking field trip. Many of the children wore their costumes. It was also their first “Fatherhood Activity.” The children bonded with their fathers, building upon their ongoing relationship with their father, male/female role models in their family. The children were escorted by their “fathers” along with staff and volunteers to the Superior Senior Citizen’s Center. The children sang finger play songs, read “The Nightmare In My Closet” story book and paraded in their costumes while interacting with the Senior Citizens.
The children also participated in photo event with their father, or family member attending. At the end of their walking field trip, the children relaxed on the circle time carpet in costume, while reflecting on the day’s events.
