Looking up into the stars can be a pretty mesmerizing thing, especially if you are in Dark Sky community Oracle.
On Saturday, June 14, Oracle State Park hosted its June Star Party, offering those in attendance a chance to admire the cosmos through high quality telescopes. Those providing the telescopes are from the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association, who set up over five different telescopes for people to use.
Food Truck DC Jumble was in Oracle for the second evening in a row, serving up their tasty Latin Caribbean soul food.
A Dark Sky organization member had a table set up, and was handing out literature all about what it is to be part of the Dark Sky community.
Once the sun set, the only lights on were small red lights, so people could gaze into the wonders of space.
On Saturday, June 28, Oracle State Park will be hosting a Night Sky photography workshop from 7:30-9:30 p.m. For this event, patrons must register online prior to arriving. You can register by going to: https://azstateparks.com/reserve/Activities/Search.aspx or calling the park at 520-896-2425.
