With the expectation of cooler weather ahead, the Oracle Community Learning Garden is having its fall plant sale. Cool-season veggies and herb starts will be available for pre-order and pre-pay starting Thursday, Sept. 10, through Sept. 16 for drive-through pickup on Saturday, Sept. 19. All plants are locally and organically grown by garden volunteers and selected for their ability to thrive in Oracle’s upcoming cool season.
The list of plants available for sale includes parsley, dill, chard, kale, collards, broccoli, arugula, mizuna, and more. The full list of plants and instructions for ordering and picking up your order is on the garden’s Facebook page – ‘Oracle Community Learning Garden at Wood Field’. You can also request the list by emailing us at oclgarden2020@gmail.com. Because we are pre-packing your orders in order to observe social distancing, all purchases must be pre-ordered by Wednesday, Sept. 16. Organizers recommend placing your order early, as there is a limited supply.
An extra bonus to picking up your order on Sept. 19 is the opportunity to see the maiden voyage of their Kid’s Oracle Community Learning Garden Railroad! When you pick up your order, you’ll be able to drive past the railroad and see part of it in action. This is no small project – at completion, over 350 feet of track will be laid.
This plant sale benefits the Oracle Community Learning Garden and allows them to continue creating new and innovative gardening projects. Please stop by and see what’s growing – new things are sprouting all the time!
