The San Manuel baseball team scored early and often on its way to a 24 – 4 run-rule victory at San Carlos last Tuesday.
San Manuel scored in each of the first four innings, including a 10-run third.
The Miners hit five doubles in the game, including two by Alejandro Camacho, who also drove in a game-high four runs. Kevin Carter and Saul Quijada also hit doubles and had three RBI apiece. Louis Chavez, a junior, went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Christian Estrada also drove in two runs.
Starting pitcher AJ Castillo earned the victory, going three innings and allowing four runs – one earned – on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks. Javy Tamayo pitched a perfect inning in relief, fanning all three Braves’ hitters he faced.
