Martie Kay Irwin

  Martie Kay Irwin, 72, passed away on Nov. 19, 2024, in Casa De La Luz Hospice in Tucson.

  Martie is survived by her husband, Frank Irwin; sisters, Jerry and Cidney; children, Aaron and Kati Roberts, Karen and Seth Knowlton, Kaysee Brewer, and Sandra and Matt Carless; grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and many cousins.

  She had a remarkable career dedicated to helping others. Martie worked as a nurse’s assistant, providing compassionate care to those in need, and later shared her knowledge as a sign language teacher, empowering others with the gift of communication. Her dedication extended to assisting the visually impaired, offering guidance and support to help them navigate daily life with confidence. Beyond her professional roles, Martie was a natural caregiver, devoting countless hours to supporting friends and family members throughout her lifetime. However, she believed her most important and fulfilling role was being a mother, a job she embraced with boundless love and dedication. Her kindness and selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone she cared for.

  Martie had a deep love for spending time with family and friends, always cherishing the connections that brought joy to her life. An outgoing and vibrant personality, she was beloved by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She found excitement in being outdoors, exploring new places, and taking long rides through God’s country. Her creative spirit shone through her many hobbies, including scrapbooking, making cards, silk ribbon embroidery, and quilting, often shared with her cherished group of friends.

  Services for Martie Kay Irwin will be held at the Oracle Union Church, located at 705 E. American Ave. in Oracle (85623), on Jan. 4, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
