Martha Martinez

  Martha Martinez, 68, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and beloved member of her community, passed away from cancer in Mesa on Aug. 9, 2025, surrounded by her family.

  Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband, Manuel Martinez Jr., and her cherished daughter, Ana Delores Martinez.

  She is survived by her devoted son, Manuelito “Lito” Martinez, and her treasured grandsons, Jerome and Enrique, who were the joy of her life.

  Martha graduated from Hayden High School. For 36 years, Martha proudly served as a school bus driver for the Hayden, Ray, Florence and Superior school districts. She was a dedicated advocate for her fellow drivers, serving as President of the Arizona Association for School Pupil Transportation (AASPT), where she worked tirelessly to ensure safety, respect and unity among her peers.

  Beyond her professional work, Martha was known for her creativity and generosity. She loved spending time with friends and family, baking and dancing. For over 30 years, Martha delighted family, friends and neighbors with her beautiful and delicious cakes, each made with love and care. She was a woman who always put her family first – offering her time, her talents and her heart without hesitation.

  Martha’s legacy is one of dedication, creativity, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

  Services honoring Martha Martinez’ beautiful life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, starting with a 2 p.m. Blessing at the Graveside at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden, located at 201 Mountain View in Hayden, followed by a memorial celebration of life from 4 p.m. through 7 p.m. at the Dudleyville Multi-Generational Center in Dudleyville.
