Mark Anthony Atchley

  Mark Anthony Atchley, 64, passed away of a heart attack in Dudleyville on Feb. 18, 2025.

  Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Fay Atchley; brothers, Ben (Esther) and David (Diane) Atchley; sister, Eva (Jeff) Lee; niece, Megan Lee; and his brothers-in-law, Lanny (Toni) Wilson and Eric (Karen) Fennell.

  He is survived by his three sisters, Toni Wilson, Karen Fennell and Anna (Paul) Tyers; brothers, Daniel (Kimberly Leigh) and Michael (Kimberly Lynn) Atchley. Mark also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, across the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

  Mark graduated high school and went on to serve in the U.S. Army, wherein he later completed two separate tours with the U.S. Marine Corps. After his military service he worked in Arizona, Colorado and Alaska.

  During his childhood Mark spent several years in Australia before returning to the United States. He loved biking and walking. Mark was a kind and generous man who will be deeply missed.

  A memorial service was held at the Kearny Church of Christ, located at 103 Hammond Dr. in Kearny, on Sunday, March 23, which was attended by family members from South Dakota, Oklahoma and local Copper Basin family, as well as his brothers and sisters in Christ. Mark was buried at the Dudley Cemetery, which was started by Fay Atchley’s great-granddaddy, Dudley.
