If you have seen someone recently displaying this (see photo) as their prize, then, perhaps you either know a thief or have viewed a display given or sold to a person by a thief.
This trophy belongs to Mike Gorham who resides at 111 E. 5th St. in Mammoth. It was one of his first. It was recently blatantly stolen from Mike’s mother’s home from its display at the Rocking G Ranch, 36000 Rocking G Trail. The ranch is located at 10.5 miles South of San Manuel, on the Redington Road.
Of course, the thief is not known. It is not known if the taker is a local, hunter, a delivery person, or even someone who knows the family. It is hoped that the readers of this plea will please assist in the find. Pass the word verbally, use Facebook, Instagram, email, sports publications, posting, notifications to local hunters or any social media method possible to get the word out, and, especially, get this picture circulated.
Fact: There are many more good sports and honest hungers than those who would deprive someone in his /her hunting brotherhood of a most prized possession. This kind of “keepie” is much more than a trophy. These represent a remembrance of emotions, feelings, the trials of the trip, the thrill of hunting, and, a success. We sincerely hope the horns will be located.
It would be appreciated if you, all of your friends, all true hunters everywhere would circulate this picture, watch for a vision of this rack everywhere you go, pass the word, pass the picture, pass the story, and, hopefully this can be returned to the person who truly owns this rack.
If you have any information that could help you retrieve the rack, please call MikeGorham at 520-487-2066 or (mobile)480-586-0274; Joe Reynoso at (La Casita) 520-487-9980 or Lanie Reynoso (home) at 520-487-2401; or Carlene K. Gorham at 520-212-3456.
‘n thankee for anything you can do to help this 40 year old trophy come home.
