How sad is this? We have had a five gallon water bottle setting on the front counter for over a year collecting money for the Kearny Library. Well, last Thursday there was only one person working. We try to have two but that’s not always possible. Sometime when his back was turned, someone took our jug with all the money.
We use any moneys that come in to purchase books I can’t get through the county as well as buy supplies for Coffee And Conversation, Story Hour, Ladies Day Out, National Library Week Contest Winners Goodie Bags, Summer Reading Program incentives and prizes.
Whoever did this didn’t just steal from us. They stole from the community and now we don’t have our jug to collect money in. If you have any information on this please call the library at 363-5861.
