Jose Patricio Domingo Dodge

  Our beloved Jose Patricio Domingo Dodge passed away at home surrounded by his family on Jan. 12, 2025, at the age of 98 years. He was born in Puerto De Luna, New Mexico on April 25, 1926, the last of nine siblings. He was a World War II Veteran.

  Domingo moved to Arizona in 1948 and was employed by Kennecott. He married the love of his life, Elena Marez, on Jan. 7, 1949, in Sonora, Arizona. They celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in 2024.

  Domingo and Elena built a house together in Ray, Arizona. When Kennecott expanded, they relocated the home to Superior, Arizona. They bought a lot that was surrounded by children of all ages. They were Blessed to find a neighborhood with wonderful people.

  Domingo worked for Kennecott for 33 years and retired as a Shovel Operator. He retired at 55 and devoted much of his time to the church as a handy man, volunteering at funeral lunches and Fiestas. He invited his children and grandchildren to work at the Coke booth at the Fiestas, it was teamwork at its best.

  His greatest joy was being husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He devoted his life to Elena and his family. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His passion was fishing, camping, hunting with his sons, David and Bobby, son-in-law, Ricardo (Pro), grandsons, Blackhawk and Michael, and his great-grandsons, Nico and Manuel. Buying and selling chili from Hatch New Mexico, he loved the hustle!

  Domingo and Elena had four children, Merlinda Provencio (Ricardo), Bobby Dodge (Viola), Gloria Dodge, David Dodge (Deceased) (Glo), 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

  Come celebrate Domingo’s life Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Superior, Arizona with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Luncheon will follow after at the St. Mary’s Center, 100 W. Sunset Dr. Superior, Arizona 85173
