Jose Jesus “Negro” Arbizo, 71, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021 at his ranch in Aravaipa. Joe was a great, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and tio who cherished his family with all of his heart. He was always so proud of all of “his kids” whether they were his kids, his grandkids, nieces and nephews and so many friends.

Joe was a socially active man who was deeply involved with his church. He sang in the choir every Sunday and was very well-known for singing for countless funerals.

Joe was a proud Army veteran and fought in Vietnam from March 1969 through December 1971.

Music has always been a huge part of the majority of his life. He sang in bands, choirs, but most of all he loved to sing with his family and friends.

Negro’s passion which was instilled in him by his parents was his love for his farming and ranching. He had the best hand at training horses and loved to rope with his family.

Joe is survived by his wife, Eva, of 49 years; his son, Chris Padilla (Heather); his son, Rene Arbizo, Sr. (Elisa); and his son, James “Jap” Arbizo.

Joe is also survived by his sisters, Mary “ Jita” Ramirez (Robert), Lucy Lopez (Richard) and Elizabeth “Pelona” Parra (Mauro). He has nine grandchildren, Savanna, Brianna, Kassandra, Selina, Ahleah, Rene Jr. and Makena. Joe also had six great-grandchildren, Jubencio “Jubi” and Janicia Garcia, Alejandro “Jando” Estrada and Miah “Tortilla” Lopez.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, Bruno and Artemisa Arbizo; his sister, Ernestina “Tina” Contreras; his brother, Raymond “Monchie” Arbizo; and brother who died as an infant “Cookie” Arbizo.

Joe will forever live in our precious memories.

Services will be held Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, at Blessed Sacrament Church on Hwy. 77  in Mammoth. A viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m., rosary from 10-10:30 a.m. and a mass from 10:30-11:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the parish hall.
