Jimmie Striplin
Jimmie “Strip” Striplin, Arizona native and long time Oracle resident passed away at the age of 78 on Jan. 16, 2018. He was born March 10, 1939 to Louis and Edith Striplin in Miami.
He came to San Manuel in 1956 where he met his wife JoAnn, who he married in 1958. Jimmie served in the Navy from 1956 – 1960 returning to San Manuel where he worked at Magma Copper for 28 years and retired from Asarco in 1998. Jimmie loved animals, camping, fishing, boating, swimming and all things outdoors but most of all he loved his family.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, JoAnn; son, Jimmie Striplin and beloved daughter-in-law Roxie Striplin; and daughters, Pam Striplin and Trish Striplin. He is also survived by five grandkids, Valerie Striplin, Mike Striplin, Stephanie Russell, Billy Striplin and Kevin Pyritz; and seven great-grandkids.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at Trowbridge Hall, adjacent to Oracle Union Church, 705 E. American Avenue in Oracle on Feb. 3 at 3 p.m.
