Jessie Mae Gould
Jessie Mae Gould was called home to the Lord on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at the age of 88.
Born in Seale, Alabama on Sept. 19, 1936, to Willie Austin and Marie Williams, she was raised by her mother and grandparents Harmon and Gertrude Williams in Georgia.
She started working at the age of 12 years old and had many jobs throughout her life. She had a love of learning and never stopped reading and asking questions.
She met her husband Donald Gould when he was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. She was working in a German restaurant at the time. They lived all over the southern United States while Don was in the Army, settling in Tacoma, Washington for several years. They married in Reno, Nevada on Oct. 6, 1977.
They moved to Kearny, Arizona in 1984 when Donald’s job transferred them.
Jessie lived in Kearny for 40 years. She enjoyed camping, fishing and loved to try her luck in the casinos. She was a very lucky person and even won a new car once.
Jessie was a longtime member of the San Padro Valley Baptist Church where she had many good friends. She made friends easily, was fun loving and had a quick smile. She was very generous and willing to share with anyone in need.
Jessie is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gould; her brother, David Lee Miles; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Ginger Gould.
She is survived by her niece, Judy Gould and her husband Woody of Oxford, Maine; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Ramona Gould of Auburn, Maine; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Becky Gould of Minot, Maine; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to mention her caregiver Hailey who took great care of her for several years and helped them make sure she had everything she needed.
Jessie lived a full life and enjoyed her life on her terms.
