JD McCain

  JD McCain, age 86, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Dec. 1, 1938, JD lived a full and vibrant life, marked by his unwavering commitment to his family and the joy he found in everyday moments.

  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marianne, who passed away on Feb. 3, 2015. Together, they created a legacy of love and support that will continue through their children and grandchildren.

  JD is survived by his four devoted daughters, Debbie (Kevin), Kathy (David), Sheryl (Paul), and Kim (Scott). His family also includes a cherished group of grandchildren, DJ (Cassie), Tiffany (Cody), Nick, Sarah (Talisa), Luke (Megan), Ryan (Beca), Kyle, Rae, Connor (Larissa), Arielle (Mark), and Chris (Cara). JD was also a proud great-grandfather to Maddi, Daityn, Alora, Macaidyn, Trigger, Annabelle, Kathryn, Bo, Maicy, Brooks, Mabel, Morgan and another little boy on the way.

  JD retired from BHP Copper as Vice President of Operations in 1996, after a successful career that he approached with dedication and integrity. Following his retirement, he pursued his passion for restoring old cars, spending quality time with his grandchildren, and keeping busy with various projects that sparked his creativity.

  Family was everything to JD, and he took great pride in the closeness of his family and the values he and Marianne instilled in them. He cherished the bonds they shared and was always there to offer support and encouragement. When asked what he wanted to be remembered for most, JD humbly stated, “My love for Jesus.”

  Throughout his life, JD was known for his kindness, wisdom, and sense of humor. He loved people and never met a stranger, always willing to invite them over for a meal and share in the warmth of friendship. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all his many friends who helped him during the last few years of his life—your kindness did not go unnoticed.

  Rest in peace, JD. You will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved you.
