Henry ‘Humphrey’ Noriega Corral

  Henry “Humphrey” Noriega Corral, 79, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, at Mi Casa Nursing Center in Mesa, Arizona.   

  He was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Litchfield Park, Arizona, to Jose and Amanda Corral.   He married Otilia Granillo on May 26, 1963 in Ray, Arizona. She passed away on Dec. 7, 1995.   He remarried on Feb. 13, 2000 to Alicia Ruiz. 

  Henry’s surviving family includes Henry G. Corral (son) and his wife, Claudia and their children, Anthony Rene, Michael Henry, Eric James, Ryan G. and Raniah; Sandra Cox (daughter) and her husband Carlton, and their children Dejonet Michele, Carlton James Jr. and Jasmine Marie; Patricia Denogean (daughter) and her husband Alfred, and their daughters Denicia Otilia, and Delina Josette.   He is survived by great-grandchildren, Natalie, Kingston, Karla and Henry.   Henry is also survived by his brothers, Eddie (Jovie), Ernest (Velma), Jose (Judy) and David (MaryAlice); and his sister, MaryAnne (Tony).

  Henry’s parents Jose and Amanda Corral preceded him in death.  

  Henry was born in Litchfield Park and moved to Sonora, Arizona in 1948 and graduated from Ray High School in 1958.  He began his employment at Kennecott Copper Corporation right after high school graduation and retired after 30 years of service.  He married Otilia Granillo in 1963 and moved to Riverside, Arizona in 1965.  He became a longtime resident of Kearny, Arizona in 1969 where he lived for 30 years.  After Otilia’s passing in 1995, Henry was remarried to Alicia Ruiz in 2000.  

  Henry’s biggest love was writing music and and playing music with his family.   He performed in many musical groups during his youth, and then dedicated his life and music to the Cursillo movement and the Catholic church later in life.   He was an incredible vocalist and guitar player, and also composed many songs during his lifetime.   One of his most famous songs was entitled, “Algo Hermoso Para Dios” (Something Beautiful for God) which he composed in the late 70’s and is still played to this day by many church musicians around the Southwest. 

  Services for Henry will be held Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Kearny, AZ. Visitation is at 9 a.m. Rosary is at 9:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa, AZ.
