Kearny Elks Lodge #2478 is proud to announce that two local youths placed first and second in the Arizona East District Elks Hoop Shoot free throw contest. After winning the local Kearny Elks Lodge contest, the kids competed at the Arizona East District contest on Jan. 25.
Congratulations to Yareli Aguero who won first place in the 10 -11 year old girls division and will represent the East District and Kearny Lodge at the Arizona State Hoop Shoot on Feb. 8, 2025. Second place in the boys 10-11 age group went to Guillermo “Jack” Alvarez. Both are students at Leonor Hambly K-8 in Hayden-Winkelman.
The Hoop Shoot has been unleashing gritty kids for over 50 years. The Elks Hoop Shoot is a free throw program for youth ages 8-13. Congratulations to all the local children who participated.
