Guadalupe Rivera Gallegos

  Guadalupe Rivera Gallegos, born on Nov. 25, 1936, in Hayden, AZ, to Santiago Rivera and Margarita Bracamonte Rivera, passed away on March 21. 2025.

  She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Sylvia Marie Guzman; her brother, Santiago Rivera; and two sisters, Margie Lagunas and Mary Jessie Blancarte. Guadalupe’s legacy lives on through her two daughters, Rosalie Gallegos and Laura Romero; and her pride and joy — her eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

  Guadalupe dedicated many years to various jobs, ultimately retiring from the Kennecott Copper Mines, where she formed lasting friendships. After retirement, she moved to Gilbert, AZ, to be closer to her family. An avid reader, her greatest love was caring for and spending time with her grandchildren. She was exceptionally caring and loving with her great-grandson, Steven Joseph Quintana. Their bond was unique and special, marked by their favorite saying, “I love you to the moon and back.”

  Guadalupe’s love and protection for her family were unwavering. She would defend and protect them in any manner, to the end of time. Her spirit will continue to watch over and guide them, ensuring they feel her love always

  Services were held Saturday, March 29, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden.
