Hikers from Seattle, Washington having Pizza and visiting with Lorraine and Gary at Old Time Pizza.

The holidays are finally O-V-E-R! The kids (and grandkids) are back in school.

Time to clean out those closets full of old clothes and make room for the new ones.

If you have old Pioneer Days T-Shirts among that clutter, please consider laundering them so they are fresh, and then donate them in the big box at Old Time Pizza.

Our idea is to collect enough good-quality shirts that we can give one T-shirt to each of our hikers that come in from the Arizona National Scenic Trail.

Imagine the advertising value of a hiker heading north past Roosevelt Lake or up to the Grand Canyon, and passing other hikers wearing a brightly-colored T-Shirt that proclaims the Town of Kearny on the front, and gives a list of our local businesses on the back! When these hikers go out with their friends back home, they might also wear their Kearny T-Shirt and regale their friends with stories about Kearny, the Friendliest Town along the Arizona Trail…

We will quality check all of the donated Pioneer Days T-Shirts, sort them by size, and fold them so they are presented neatly.

Then it’s up to Gary and Lorraine at Old Time Pizza or the staff at the General Kearny Inn to identify hikers and let them take their pick of one free T-Shirt to help us promote Kearny up and down along the entire 800-plus miles of The Arizona National Scenic Trail.

We really hope you can help us out in this low-cost advertising opportunity. Thank you!
