Resolution Copper along with officials from the Town of Superior and board members from the Legends of Superior Trails attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new improved trailhead parking area for the Queen Creek Canyon segment of the Legends of Superior Trail near Main Street.
Resolution Copper is funding the construction project which will include improved drainage and a paved parking lot with lighting.
Mayor Mila Besich gave a few brief remarks and shared how the Queen Creek canyon segment was the first segment of the LOST to be opened over a decade ago as part of the 12-mile trail that connects the original Queen Creek Tunnel to the Arizona Trail Picket Post trailhead.
“This groundbreaking marks an exciting milestone for the Legends of Superior Trails and the entire Superior community,” said Bryan Seppala, Principal Advisor, Economic Development and Social Investment, Resolution Copper. “The new Queen Creek Canyon Trailhead parking lot will enhance safety, improve access, and support outdoor recreation. We’re proud to partner with the Town of Superior on this project and invest in sustainable community initiatives.”
