Porter’s, like all restaurants in the Copper Corridor, has been closed since mid-March.

On Monday, Governor Doug Ducey announced that barber shops, beauty salons and non-essential retail stores may open on Friday, May 8, with increased sanitation protocols and physical distancing requirements in full force.  Restaurants can also open their dining rooms on Monday, May 11. Restaurants may only be able to use a portion of their dining capacity and staff will be required to wear face coverings.

Other services such massage, aesthetics and nail salons were not reopened on this round of opening.

Ducey indicated in his press conference that the Stay at Home order is set to expire on May 15, 2020.  During his press conference he shared data that indicates that hospitals are not seeing an increase in COVID-19 or influenza symptoms.

These openings come with the requirements for physical distancing, increased sanitation and personal hygiene to be in order.  Movie theaters are not expected to open until July, in part because the major film producers will not have new releases available until July.

Local businesses in the Copper Corridor will be preparing for their reopenings.  In Superior, the local business community and the Town of Superior have signed on to a safety pledge.
