A house at 205 Fairhaven Rd. in Kearny was destroyed by fire Monday afternoon. There were no injuries or fatalities. No one was living in the house at the time. Kearny Volunteer Fire Department responded and brought the blaze under control. The houses next door were threatened but with the help of neighbors spraying water on the roofs, the houses were saved. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
