Delbert O. Burke was born Aug. 25, 1940, in Oklahoma, and passed away Feb. 6, 2021, at home in Winkelman.
He served in the U.S. Army, moved to Winkelman in 1968 when he started to work at Kennecott soon after opened Burke’s Feed Store. He served on the Town Council for years. Delbert enjoyed fishing, hunting, roping with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward and Doris Burke; and his youngest sister, Anita Turnage. Delbert is survived by his wife, Shelene; sister, Eva Lois May; son and daughter-n-law, Luke and Jenn; and daughter, Cyrena. Delbert has three grandchilden, Joe, MaKayla and Cole; and two great-grandsons, Blake and Keon.
His wish was to donate his body to science research and due to the pandemic, his celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
