David John McClure

David John McClure, 66, of Oracle, Arizona, passed away suddenly on Oct. 18, 2025, in a tragic automobile accident.

Born on Jan. 7, 1959, David was the son of the late Donald McClure and Mary McClure. He spent his life working hard, laughing often, and loving deeply.

For more than 40 years, David was known for his dedication and strong work ethic, spending nearly three decades in the copper mining industry before joining Tucson Electric Power, where he worked for 15 years until his retirement.

David was happiest outdoors—whether he was camping, woodworking, or simply enjoying the beauty of Arizona. He had a gift for seeing potential and beauty in things others might overlook, often turning old pieces of wood or metal into something special.

More than anything, David loved his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathryn McClure; his sons, David John Jr. (Cassie) and Nicholas Ryan; and his beloved granddaughters, Maddison, Alora, Annabelle, and Kathryn. He also leaves behind his mother, Mary McClure; and siblings, Donna Dobbin (Gary), Dennis McClure, Daniel McClure (Pam), and Debbie Humphreys (Scott).

David never met a stranger and was known for his humor, kindness, and the way he made everyone feel like a friend. His laughter could fill a room, and his warmth and generosity touched all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Living Word Chapel in Oracle, Arizona.
