The Dasch In Thrift Shoppe, located at 375 American Ave. in Oracle, re-opened on June 16, 2020 following the end of the governor’s COVID-19 stay at home order.
The store officially opened April 13, 2019, selling a variety of lovingly used items including furniture, clothes, jewelry, books, DVDS, music CDs, housewares, art, and more. They also carry Avon products.
The owner of Dasch In Thrift Shoppe is Jimmie Dasch. Her family is from outside Philadelphia. They moved to Arizona so that Jimmie could help take care of her mother who lived in Tucson. As they did not want to live in Tucson, they instead found a house in Oracle and have lived here for about two and a half years. Jimmie said she was amazed at the welcome she received from people in Oracle.
“Lots of customers are thrilled to have us here,” she said. “We get lots of donated items from people.”
Dasch In Thrift Shoppe accepts donations of gently used items.
The family owned and operated business believes in giving back to the community. They are a drop off site for Oracle Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation (OARR). People can drop off pet food, toys, leashes, muzzles and any items for these rescued animals. Jimmie said that they donated formal dresses and suits for the San Manuel High School prom for kids of families impacted by the strike at ASARCO.
“We want to help, we want to give,” she explained.
