  Daniel Gaona, 86, passed away from natural causes in Tucson on July 9, 2025.

   Daniel Gaona (Danny) is survived by his wife, Gloria Gaona; daughters, Gloria Elena and Evangelina; grandchildren, Daniel, Cassandra, Annalexia and Ernest; great-grandson, Xander; and siblings, Nick and Jane.

   He successfully finished a two-year program at Pima Community College obtaining a Mechanics certification. Danny proudly served in the Army for three years as a tank mechanic and was stationed in Germany for a year and a half. He worked for 17 years at Christmas Mine followed by 20 years at Cypress Copper Mine in Globe.

   Danny loved to stay active with drawing, riding his bike and working on cars. The most important thing was his family. He had the best sense of humor and had a way of making people smile.

   Services for Daniel Gaona will be held at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, located at 66 E. Maplewood St. in Oracle on Thursday, July 31, 2025, starting at 10 a.m. As soon as Mass is complete, Danny’s memory will be celebrated at a meeting at the Oracle Community Center.

  Interment will be at the Oracle Cemetery.
