Dale Edwin Shacklett

  Dale Edwin Shacklett of Superior was born Feb. 14, 1944, and passed away July 28, 2024. He is preceded in eternal life by his mother, Barbara May, and brother, Bob Moore.

  Dale, also known as Billy Shack (Billy Shack & The Oldsmobilies) and Farkel Frump, is survived by his close cousin, Sharon (Harold) Thornton; nieces and nephews, great niece Julia, and his entire Michigan family, close friends Pamela (David) Peck and Chris (Mary) Scalise and special friends from many states and locations he has travelled.

  Dale served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969 earning many citations and awards. His service included Vietnam and was then Honorably discharged.

  To know Dale is to know his appreciation and love of music, plus teaching others. He treasured playing and singing at “Music in the Park” in Superior from 2016-2024 and local establishments in Superior, AZ. He loved entertaining by playing parts, “Cowboy Style”, with Mule Skinners in Copper Canton, and acting roles with Fishgate Productions from Superior.

  Dale would love for everyone to have a “Song in your heart”.

  His favorite saying from Hans Christian Andersen is: “Where words fail, music speaks”. May he remain forever in our hearts with love.

  A celebration of life will be held at the VFW post 3584 in Superior, AZ on Feb. 15, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. Lunch will be served and a dedication to “Music in the park” will be held shortly after. We are asking friends and family to share stories about Dale.
