The Central Junior High League track and field season kicked off last Thursday, Feb. 27. Oracle’s Mt. Vista, Ray JH, Eloy, Cibecue, Miami, and High Desert Middle School were in attendance at Miami’s track.
Despite the windy weather, the young athletes found their strides and competitive sides. Mt. Vista had one of the larger teams in attendance, with multiple boys and girls in most events. The Ray Junior High team had only a few young Bearcats, but they still competed with heart.
The Central Junior High League track meets are Thursdays starting at 3:45 p.m.: March 6 at Miami, March 13 at Ray, March 20 at Miami, March 27 at Miami and April 3 at Miami. The CJHL Championship will be on Friday, April 11.
