Congratulations to Superior Fire Department’s Firefighter/EMT Christopher Villaverde Badge #162 for receiving a MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) award as First Responder of the Year at the MADD Honors Heroes Recognition Banquet hosted at Casino Del Sol in Tucson last Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019. He was awarded for his accomplishments in public education, fire prevention and awareness at SFD, particularly with coordinating the DUI mock accident event at Superior Jr/Sr High School back in March 2019. This amazing event was on display for students at SUSD, and surrounding communities to see the importance of driving responsible, and the consequences of distracted driving and driving impaired. Chris plans on continuing his fire career with Superior Fire for many years to come and believes small events, station visits, school and classroom lectures all make the difference when it comes to fire safety. He has been with Superior Fire since 2014.
