Donald “Joe” and Ruby L. (Horton) Smith, of Kearny, are pleased to announce their 50th wedding anniversary, which occurred on Jan. 4, 2019.
Donald and Ruby were married in Tucson on Jan. 4, 1969. They met in January 1967 in Tucson, where Ruby was a clerk-typist at the Tucson Library and Donald worked at a steel fabricating shop.
Donald, from Brownstone, IL, went on to work as a Boilermaker. Ruby, from Tucson, became a Registered Nurse. Over the course of their marriage, they have been blessed with two children, Jody Stuart and Lanny Smith; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
For their anniversary, Donald and Ruby went on a Caribbean cruise, and it has been a yearlong celebration ever since.
