On Feb. 11, 2021, Carole Jean Arnett was called home after suffering briefly from a stroke. Jean was born on Sept. 1, 1937 in Mansfield, Ohio to Adam and Della Scheetz. She moved to Whitman, AZ with her family as a young girl and eventually landed in Superior in 1949 where she met her husband, Alexander “Red” Arnett and raised her family.

  Jean was a strong and courageous woman with unmatched faith in the Lord.  She was truly a giving and kind human being. Jean loved learning about animals and plants and enjoyed exploring the outdoors. Jean served as a school bus driver for 16 years for the Superior and Flagstaff school districts.

  Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Alexander “Red” Arnett, and her sons, Gregory Bryan Arnett and Howard Daniel “Rusty” Arnett. She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Ann Bilberry and Jackie Gaetjens; and daughters, Tammy Arnett and Jeannie Arnett. Additionally, Jean is survived by 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

  A graveside service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Superior, AZ on March 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. Guests will be asked to wear face masks and respect appropriate physical distancing. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Jean’s honor.
