Bettina “Tina” Marie Navarro, 65, passed unexpectedly on March 25, 2021, at her home in Mesa, Arizona.
Tina was born on March 13, 1956 to Petra and Armando Navarro in Superior, Arizona, where she lived a happy and carefree life and was a proud Panther class of 1974 graduate. Tina moved to Mesa in 1980 and became a cheer coach to her daughter’s school squad and her sons’ number one team sports fan. Tina had a long career in manufacturing at Motorola before retiring in 2015 at which time she was able to devote her time to shopping for perfect gifts, hosting family gatherings, apprentice gardening, being mom’s assistant, and caring for the feral cat.
Tina is preceded in death by her father, Armando, and survived by her mother, Petra; daughter, Jamie Navarrette; sons, Paul (Angel) and Ralph “RJ” (Maureen) Navarrette; grandchildren, Desiree and Shantel Smith, Destiny, Natalie, Nathan, Niko, Jacob and Mia Navarrette; great-granddaughter, Maya Laguna; sisters, Susan Ybarra and Christine Navarro; and brothers, Michael, David (Rosa), Vincent, and Marty Navarro.
Our beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister was our goodwill ambassador, party planner, and master chef, and we will never be the same without her. We take solace in our faith knowing that she is at peace and that our grief will lessen.
Services will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church at 30 W. First St. in Mesa on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. and Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Strict COVID-19 safety precaution guidelines are in place.
