Belia Corral Fessenden

  Belia Corral Fessenden of Kearny Arizona passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018. She was 72 years old.

  Belia was born on Feb. 10, 1946 in Sonora, Arizona to Alberto Castro Corral and Rosenda Granillo Corral. Growing up as the youngest of five she was loved and spoiled by her siblings, Teddy, Frankie, Satch and Becky. Belia attended Ray High School where she played badminton and volleyball. She was a great athlete and was the State Champion for badminton in both singles and doubles. After graduating from Ray High in 1965, she went to cosmetology school and become a beautician and managed beauty shops in Riverside and Kearny.

  As a single Mom, Belia wanted to make more money to support her family and decided work for Kennecott Copper Corporation as a laborer and then became a special truck driver. When she was laid off from the mines, Belia decided to start a career in law enforcement. After working in the Pinal County Records Department for a few years, she attended and graduated from the Gila Pueblo Police Academy. During her 23 years with the county she was a deputy, detective, SWAT team member, hostage negotiator, and Public Information Officer. Her toughness and her faith in God prepared her for the painful illness she endured.

  Belia will be greatly missed by all of her family, especially her two sons Jimmy and Danny (JoAnna), grandchildren (Joshua, Jessica, Zoe, Dominic, and Daniel) and great-grandchildren (James and Addy).

  Services for Belia will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church in Kearny. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., followed by Rosary at 9:30 and Mass at 10 a.m.
