Annie Counts

  Annie Counts, 87, passed away on Sept. 9, 2025, in Oracle.

  She is survived by her husband, Terry Nelson; brothers, Frank, Peter and Tommy Pierson; sister, Maggie Riggs; sons, Vanoy, Darrel and Wayne Counts; daughter, Theresa Counts; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

  Annie earned her GED. She worked for Oracle Elementary School Cafeteria and JCPenney

  Annie was a very loving, giving, and caring mother, mother-in-law, and grandparent. She loved to bake, cook, sew, quilt, host family gatherings and spend time with friends and family. Annie found joy in feeding the deer in her yard and making her property a safe haven for all the creatures, while warning her hunting family that we were never to hunt near the house.

  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but the lessons she taught, the warmth she shared, and the love she gave will remain in our hearts forever.

  Services for Annie Counts were held on Sept. 20 at the Living Word Chapel in Oracle. She was interred at Oracle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to her favorite charity, Projectlinus.org, would be appreciated.
