
Albert ‘Beto’ G. Maldonado
On Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, Albert (Beto) G. Maldonado, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in Phoenix, Arizona surrounded by his family.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1934, in San Jose, Arizona. During high school, Albert met the love of his life, Teresa, and they tied the knot on Jan. 1, 1955. Together, they celebrated an incredible 70 years of marriage, creating a beautiful family that includes four children, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
For 25 years, he worked as a miner with Magma Copper Company in San Manuel, 11 years as a custodian at Flowing Wells High School where he built a softball batting cage and as a Forest Ranger in Quemado, New Mexico.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, Nazario and Carmela Maldonado; sister, Patricia (Patsy) Ann Martinez; and brothers, Richard, Clemente (Gordy), and Alfred (Fred) Maldonado.
He leaves behind his wife, Teresa; his children, Raymond (Anna) of Tucson, Richard and Theresa Maldonado of Phoenix, and Alva Brandon (Mark) of Las Vegas; his treasured grandchildren, Angela (James) Sieminski, Ricardo (Jennifer) Gomez, Michaela Duarte (Mike), Dina and Jesse Maldonado; and his adored great-grandchildren, Emmy, Ella, and Ensley Sieminski (Angela and Jamie); and Nolan, Camryn, and Dvyne Gomez (Ricardo and Jennifer), all of Tucson, Arizona.
He loved fishing, cheering for his U of A Wildcats and playfully placing $5 bets with the boys in his family, always keeping track of who owed what with a twinkle in his eye.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church, in Quemado, NM on March 20, 2025. Additionally, services will also be held in Tucson, Arizona. Details pending.
