Aida Horton

  Aida Horton, 81, of Kearny, passed away peacefully on Oct. 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

  Born in Tucson, Arizona, Aida was a cherished mother to three beautiful children, MaryAnn Williams (David), Cindy Horton (Jon) and Samuel Jr. (Mona). Aida married the love of her life, Samuel Horton, in 1974 and they shared many years together creating a beautiful family filled with love and laughter. She is survived by her eight grandchildren, David, Anissa, Vincent, Cortez, Jon Jr., Azalya, Kenneth and Nevaeh; three great-grandchildren, Cristian, Nicholas and Liana; sisters, Terry, Sylvia, JoAnn, Gloria and Patsy; and brother, Christopher. They will forever hold her memory close.

  Aida had a vibrant spirit and heart of gold. In her younger years, she proudly worked as an Elevator Operator at the Pioneer Hotel, where she connected with countless people and held many other job titles. Aida had a passion for fashion growing up and would love to be wearing the latest styles, even the famous paper dress. She had an impressive Elvis Presley collection that showcased her unique personality. Her radiant smile could light up any room, and her warm welcoming nature drew people in. Aida loved nothing more than chatting with friends around Kearny sharing stories and creating lasting memories. She found immense joy in playing with her great-grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. She would often go to the Casino and enjoyed the time she spent with her son playing on the machines and chatting with friends. She will be remembered not only for her kindness and generosity but also for the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.

  She is preceded in by her husband, Samuel Horton, and parents, Carlos and Amalia Lopez.

  Services will be held on Dec. 7, 2024, at noon at the Constitution Hall, 912 Tilbury Dr. #E, Kearny, AZ 85137. Please wear Elvis Presley attire in remembrance of Aida.
