
Veronica Burrola Casillas
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Veronica Burrola Casillas on June 11, 2025, at the age of 61. A mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Veronica was born in Morenci Arizona, on Oct 31, 1963. She was a woman who was loving, caring, nurturing and carried a strong right hand.
With her strength and support, she was known for her unwavering dedication to her children’s well-being and ability to handle challenges with strength and resilience. She was a mother figure to many who came across her path throughout the years. She welcomed and raised many with an open heart.
She worked in the copper mines and was a caregiver and volunteer firefighter throughout her years. She served as a board member for the Mammoth Fire & Medical District since 2022 until her last days.
Her laughter, love for singing and conversations will be deeply missed.
The family is comforted knowing she is now reunited with her beloved son Thomas Lorenzo Casillas, sister Elvira Burrola and her parents who preceded her in death.
She is survived by daughters, Corina Cruz (Andy Cruz) and Lisa Casillas (Jose Jimenez); grandchildren, Alondra Jimenez, Vincent Cruz, Analicia Cruz, Leticia Cruz, Julián Cruz, Krissa Cruz and Giuliana Cruz; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Rodolfo Burrola Sr., Martin Burrola Sr., David Burrola Sr., Marcos Burrola Sr., Frank Delgado Sr. and Peter Burrola; and sisters, Lena Lester and Terri Borg.
Services for Veronica were held Wednesday, June 18, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Mammoth.
