Tina Fox
Tina Soter Fox, 83, passed away on May 11, 2025. She was born on May 29, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a first-generation American. Her parents migrated from Greece. Her father, Mike, worked as a chef and butcher while her mother, Bessie, stayed at home to care for Tina and her two older siblings, Soffia and Tom.
Growing up on a farm, Tina was fond of school and sports, with basketball being her favorite. After finishing high school, Tina worked as a meat packer until she met her future husband, James. They married in the summer of 1964 and settled in Kearny, Arizona in 1969 where James worked in the copper mines, and Tina raised their three children: John, Michele, and Jason.
Tina was active in the community, teaching swimming lessons to countless generations and coaching the Kearny Stingrays Swim Team for several years. Tina also served as a computer room aide at Kearny Elementary School and was the Treasurer for the Ray High School Band Booster Club. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and a bookkeeper for the local dance and gymnastics teacher.
Tina’s hobbies included watching classic movies and musicals, listening and dancing to music, drawing, photography, and scrapbooking. She was a huge fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks and regularly attended baseball games with her husband.
As her dementia progressed, Tina moved to Catalina Springs Memory Care facility. Tina regularly greeted caregivers and staff with a big smile, hugs, and kisses. She enjoyed the Montessori button sorting and loved to talk about her family and had great stories to share.
Tina is survived by her husband, James of 60 years. Her children are John (Debbie), Michele (Mark), and Jason (Krista). Grandmother of Aubree and Jordan Fox; Ian (Allison), Brynn (Triston), and Ryan Guillot; and Jacob Fox and Great Grandmother of Bryson, Kaison, and Kaedon.
