On Friday, April 25, the Central Junior High League Track and Field Championships were held at Miami’s track. Competing in the tournament were Ray, Mt. Vista, Miami, Eloy and Cibecue.

All of the athletes put a lot of effort into their events, knowing it was their last meet of the season, and, for some, their last Junior High track meet. They competed all afternoon, with the last event, the 4×400 relay closing out the meet right as the sun began to set.

Ray’s boys team took third place overall for the championship meet, and the girls team placed fifth in the meet. Mt. Vista boys team took fifth place in the meet, and the girls team took second place, championship runner ups behind the champions, Eloy.

Good job, Copper Corridor junior high schools on a good track season!
