Sun Life Health Care in San Manuel will close in May.

Due to the current challenges within health care, alongside the increasing costs associated with maintaining the aging facility, Sun Life Health has made the difficult decision to temporarily close its San Manuel office and transfer care to Oracle. This decision was not made lightly and comes after much consideration and exploration of alternative options. Sun Life Health deeply values the trust and relationships built with its patients in San Manuel over the past 25 years and wants to ensure that relationship continues.

While this a temporary closure, Sun Life Health understands the impact it may have on patients and their families. The primary focus remains continuing to provide the highest standard of care. We have arranged to relocate services to the Oracle office, where the community can continue to receive the same dedicated care from Daniel Valdez, PA-C and the care team.

  • Effective May 5, 2025: San Manuel primary care and pharmacy services will be provided from our Oracle office.
  • Continued Care: The Sun Life Health team is committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for patients. Patients can expect to receive the same comprehensive healthcare services from our Oracle location with Daniel Valdez, PA-C and the current healthcare team.
  • Scheduling: Currently scheduled appointments will be contacted by the Sun Life Health team to assist with transferring appointments to the Oracle location. Patients can also contact us directly to discuss any questions or concerns. For future appointments please continue to call (520) 385-2234.
  • X-Ray Services: Unfortunately, there is there isn’t a room with lead walls to accommodate the equipment, but Sun Life Health will be exploring mobile imaging services with additional third-party companies.
  • Pharmacy Services: Pharmacy team members will transfer current medications to the Oracle Pharmacy for seamless refills and continued service.

Sun Life Health has been providing primary care services to the San Manuel community since 1999 and for over 20 years has done its best to ensure care is available to the San Manuel Community.

“We understand that this news may bring some concerns, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption this may cause. Our goal is to limit any disruptions to patient care. Our patient’s health and well-being are our top priorities, and we are grateful for the trust and support they have continued to provide all these years. San Manuel means a great deal to our organization and this decision was not taken lightly. My hopes are to execute a plan to return to San Manuel”, Dr. Eddie Estrada, MD, Sun Life Health CEO.
