
Ernest Copetillo
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ernest Copetillo on Jan. 1, 2025, in Mesa, AZ. He was born on Aug. 2, 1960, in Yuma, AZ. Then he resided in San Bernadino, California for 30 years until moving back to Arizona in 2010. Ernest was a cherished son, brother, uncle, Father and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met with his warmth and generosity.
A skilled and passionate cook, Ernest found joy in bringing people together through food. His culinary talents were only matched by his love for life’s simple pleasures. Ernest was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, cheering for his favorite team with unwavering loyalty. He also found peace in the great outdoors, spending countless hours fishing, enjoying the fresh air, and appreciating nature’s beauty. He was also a hard worker while doing many various jobs such as catering, running a Bar and Grill, construction, roofing, sanitation department, welding and many more
Ernest was a devoted husband to his wife, Lorene Copetillo, and a loving father to his children: Amanda Copetillo,Daniella Copetillo and Ernest Copetillo Jr. He is also survived by his sisters, Rosa (David) Perez and Linda (Miguel) De La Hoya, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, all of whom he adored. He is preceded in death by Domingo Copetillo and Maria Cruz Figueroa.
Ernest’s playful spirit was evident in his affection for the Minions, whose humor and whimsy brought him endless delight. His laughter and love for fun were infectious, leaving those around him smiling and uplifted. He will be remembered for his kind heart, love of family, and ability to make those around him feel valued and cared for. Ernest’s warmth, laughter, and love will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Ernest’s life will be on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Christ the King Church, 1551 E. Dana Ave., Mesa, AZ 85204. Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m., Mass at 11 a.m. A luncheon will be held after the services from 1-4 p.m., Mesa Spirit RV Resort 3020 E Main Street Mesa AZ, 85213.
May he rest in peace, forever fishing in tranquil waters and cheering on the Vikings from above.
