John Rios Aguirre, 63, of Phoenix, AZ, entered into eternal rest at 7:07 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, in hospice (Ryan House). He was born in Ray, AZ on April 23, 1961, a son to Ricardo Nava Aguirre and Helen Rios Aguirre and Maria de Jesus Aguirre.
He was married twice and preceded in death by his father, Ricardo Nava Aguirre, his mother, Helen Rios Aguirre, his brother, Richard Aguirre, his brother, Ruben Aguirre, his granddaughter, Marissa, and his great-grandson, Xavier.
Surviving children are Maria Elena (James), Ruben Enrique (Jaime), Erica Vanessa (Rafael), Stephanie Jeanette (Joshua). Surviving grandchildren are Antonio, Chris (Ariana), Dionne (Jose), Sally (Ryan), Carlos, Marisela (Kevin), Mysaiah, Michael and Jeremiah. Surviving great-grandchildren are Scarlette, Micah, Santiago and Ace.
Surviving siblings are Monic and her 6 children and 8 grandchildren; Oralia and her 5 children; Flor and her 3 children; Estevan and his 6 children; Rosalia and her 2 children; and Diana and her 3 children.
He was loved by many family members including tíos, primos, and friends.
A proud Lobo, John graduated from Hayden High School with the class of 1979.
He was a local union member at Asarco as a relief supervisor, classified conv, craneman, and experienced skimmer for over 15 years. This was a job he was proud of as a USW Local 886, ensuring the safety of his crew at all times.
Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hayden, Arizona.
